Germany: Germany was left in ashes after the war was over. The Nazi Regime was totally brought down and its leaders were tried for crimes against humanity. All except Hitler who committed suicide to escape execution. Germany was also divided into 4 sections by the victorious powers.
Japan: Japan was also in ruins due to bombs especially Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Japans military leaders were also tried for their crimes and the country was placed under U.S rule for a short time. The Far Eastern Commission reduced the industrial status of Japan greatly to make sure they were no longer a threat.
England: This nation was also negatively impacted by the war. Left in ruins and with the economy in a state of tragedy England relied on the U.S for aid and recovery. The image above show a burned down library in England. England had no power comparable to that of the U.S or Russia.

France: France had not lost as much as in World War I but still had to recover from the Nazi invasion. Just as England did France had to lose its power and colonial empire due to the war
Russia/Soviet Union: The Russian people suffered immensely during the war, and western parts of Russia were left in ruin due to land warfare. Though the nation built a very powerful army during the war with the Germans and with a great army and resources, Russia became a world superpower.
United States: The U.S actually benefited from the war more than any other nation. WWII helped boost the economy which definitely ended the depression and open more industrial sites around the nation. The United States without a doubt became the worlds most powerful nation.
Advancements in technology: There was outstanding technological progress due to the war. The English developed radar sensory which would eventually lead to the television. Developments in computers and electronics greatly changed the postwar world. The creation of the atomic weapons used in Japan paved way to the nuclear power industry.
Political Changes: World War II show a unexpected threat to human civilization and gave renewal to Wilson's vision to keep everything organized and peaceful. In October of 1945 the United Nations was born
